According to dictionary.com the exact
meaning of concise is “brief in form but comprehensive in scope”.
Becoming more Concise in Business Communication
is very important. On average working businessman receives 150 communications a
day from different sources like telephone, e-mail, fax and voicemail. Many
people write long paragraphs to convey massages which take long time for other
people to understand that information. By becoming more concise saves time,
increase productivity and understanding between people.
According to me, presenting your idea
without any meaningless word in limited words is called concise.

In another word, you have to know what you
are going to say up next. In business everyone presents after planning this
thing. To be concise in business, you have to make sure which main points you
will be explain, positive and negative effect of saying it. Even if you knows a
bunch of points, just concentrate on very important three, four. It means as a business professional if you are
dealing with someone, do not come with a large number of points that make them
to deal with you. Just explain some crucial points and be on main point. For
example, if customer looking for blue skies. You should say “wow” for blue one.
Even if you know that red skies are much more popular that blue ones, don’t try
to explain it. Try to Know what you know, and what customer wants to.
In business you will have to communicate in
all communication ways. So here are some tips to follow up to be concise in writing
and speaking.
Be concise in writing:

Stay on the topic: The main problem that is facing
by write is going to off topic. Do not try to make your writing, interesting by
putting information that is not related to your topic.

Say it once: Some time when you are writing words like “on the other side” or
etc. it means you are not sure and not concise. Make sure what are you saying
and say it once and clearly.

Use language strategies: Some people think that using tough language makes their writing attractive
and good. But it makes reader confused and long writing for writer. For a concise
write simple with following language rules.

Use of diagrams and charts: some time its taking too long to explain any data or survey. In such
cases try to use chart, table or photos. That can present easy and shortly your
views.

Numbered list: In some situation it is better and easiest way to explain by points
instead of paragraph. Because in paragraph we have explains much whereas in
points reader can get easily and by less words that what writer is trying to
say. As well as putting headings also a good idea to give an overall view of

Subject: Same as writing to be concise
and clear in speaking. You should know your subject to speak and stay in relate
to it.

Avoid verb pauses: Always try to ignore use of verb pauses for example um, etc and a.
because these word disturb the flow of sentence and it is much easier for listener
to understand a non-verbal end sentence.

Think before speak: To make your speech clear and to avoid verb pause sentence. Think
before speak that what are you going to speak and plan it how to speak.

Use of vocabulary: Use of vocabulary makes your speech interesting and more
informative. Try to know meaning of words that you read and you don’t know meaning
of them.

Avoid slangs: Use real words in your speech instead using of slangs. Never use
huha!! Yeah and hi.
In my views,
speak after think and stay on the topic is key component to be a concise
speaker.
Be concise in email writing:
Nowadays, email is most popular way to communicate
in business field. To write a brief and informative email, Make sure that you
are writing in limited word, relate to one topic, and just tell about topic instead
of your long introduction. And review email after writing to make it clear and straight
forward to the topic.
I would like to say that if we are going to
survive our business in 21st century it is very important that we
are using very concise communication. Because it is a very fast and time accurate
world so we have to care full about our time as well as readers or listener’s
time also
